Police are currently investigating the curious case of Father Crossan after a video of him snorting lines of cocaine through a £10 note have surfaced on the internet. The alleged footage was taken during a drinking party at his home in Banbridge, County Down, Northern Ireland back in July 2015.
According to the Sun on Sunday the video was taken inn Crossan's parish home in St. Patrick's Church, Banbridge.
Regarding the drug use, Father Crossan told the Sun on Sunday: “It was just the one night and that was it”. Although he does seem like he knew exactly what he's doing when he so nonchalantly snorted the cocaine.
According to the BBC his room contained Nazi memorabilia and the Sun on Sunday reported that he seemed to say “I shouldn't” just before snorting the addictive stimulant. The BBC further claims that Crossan had taken leave from the priesthood for depression. His
In his defense Crossan said that he is not a Nazi sympathizer and collects various historical artifacts from all over the world.
A spokesperson from the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) said: “Police are aware of the article in a Sunday newspaper and are making inquiries”. Furthermore, the bishop of Dromore stated that he had no knowledge of the incident or activities of Crossan in the circulating video.
Father Crossan no longer recides in the parochial house in St. Patrick's Church.
