Celebrity houses are a source of constant fascination for their fans and supporters because regular people are naturally curious about how their idols live. The houses also become #goals or #pegs for fans who would like to have their own space someday.
That’s why when celebrities show off their fancy digs, fans are always in for a treat.
R&B Princess Kyla and her husband, basketball player Rich Alvarez, recently gave a tour of their home sweet home. The tour was featured on Kapamilya shows Rated K and KrisTV. Their personal space, which they have lived in since 2011, is a Japanese-themed home surrounded by a garden and lush greenery.

Their home was built in 2006, back when Kyla and Rich were still in the boyfriend-girlfriend phase of their relationship. The PBA player bought the lot in 2005 when it was still sold cheaper at P6,000 - P7,000 per sq. m.
Rich shared that the construction of the house began a year later. Benedict Manalo was the builder-contractor for the house.
Kyla quipped that her future hubby only asked her opinion on the height of certain fixtures, such as the bathroom shower and kitchen sink. But for other things, Rich had the final say.
Upon entering the home, one is greeted by a minimalistic façade of white with lines of dark brown. The Zen-inspired home also has a trellised walkway, ideal for a meditative stroll.

Inside, one can immediately notice a linear theme permeating the couple’s home. Brown doors are interspersed with clear and frosted glass and small rectangular windows. The plain white walls lend a fresh and clean atmosphere to the home. As Kris Aquino said, “Malinis tingnan.”
After making one’s way through the foyer, the home’s ceiling goes way up high, making the house look even bigger and more spacious than it is. Zigzagging stairs lead the way to rooms and sleeping quarters.
The kitchen and dining areas are colored white, black, and dark brown, further enforcing a simplified look. Just like most Japanese-style homes, the couple’s abode lacks the usual frivolous and cluttered decors we’re used to seeing in Western-themed designs.
It was a breath of fresh air.
The celebrity couple have been sharing bits and pieces of their happy family life through their respective social media accounts. With their son, Toby Elsiah, they have truly created a home sweet home.
