The heated exchange between Daniel Padilla and Paul Salas might be reaching a cool down, after all.
In an interview during the opening of District 8, a gastropub that Daniel, Vice Ganda, and James Yap co-own, the actor said he felt disrespected by Paul’s mockery. He took a shot at the young actor’s foul comments.
“Para sa akin, kasi medyo nabastos lang ako na mas bata siya sa akin. Ako kasi pagkatao ko bilang artista, kapag may mas matandang artista sa akin, nirerespeto ko,” he told reporters.
Paul is 3 years younger than the 22-year-old La Luna Sangre star.
Daniel added, “Pero para sa akin, para ako atakihin mo at masama pa doon may pinagsamahan din kami, hindi ko lang tinolerate iyong ganoong bagay.”
The online tiff between the two Kapamilya actors began when Paul threw shade on Daniel’s performance and scuffle with JC de Vera during the Star Magic All Star Games. JC has already apologized to him via Twitter.
On the other hand, Paul’s snarky comment read, “Hahahahaha. Curry na Curry ba?” alluding to Steph Curry, one of today’s famous NBA players. The young actor also wrote: “Maglaro ka na lang ng lazer [sic] tag kung ayaw mong masaktan sa basketball.”
These comments offended Daniel, prompting him to challenge Paul to a basketball game. Of course, netizens always love a good fight so the actors’ fans, girlfriends, friends, and family also joined the fray.
But the Teen King called for cool heads and asked his fans to stop harassing and bashing Paul because of what he said.
“Ako naman, hindi ko naman intensiyon na kaya ko sinagot para ma-bash din siya. Sinagot ko siya para malaman niya na alam ko ang ginagawa nila,” Daniel added.
Daniel’s last call was, “And yun lang naman yun, overall, next, move on na tayo.”
But would Daniel take up Paul’s challenge on the hard court? “Huwag na... hindi, practice muna sila. Huwag na, huwag na,” the King of Hearts quipped.

Looks like the ball is now in Paul’s court.
