The recent Maalala Mo Kaya episode on Jake Zyrus’ life continues to be controversial after airing last Saturday. Much has been said about his mother, Racquel Pempengco, and how she was portrayed in the show. Not content, grandmother Thess Pineda also weighed in on the “truth” behind Racquel’s mothering technique.
But it seems that the issue won’t be going away soon.
Talent manager and showbiz insider Ogie Diaz also shared a horrible experience with the mom, through a Facebook post.
He began his post with: “Napanood ko na yung life story ni Jhake Zyrus sa MMK, grabe pala yung madir, no?”

Turned out, Ogie was once bullied on Twitter because Racquel called on the fans of Jake Zyrus, previously named Charice, to bash him. It came to the point that deactivating his account crossed his mind.
“Bigla ko tuloy naalala yung Mommy ni Charice kung paano nitong pinagalit pa ang mga fans noon ng anak niya para i-bash ako nang i-bash sa twitter na muntik ko pang desisyunang i-deactivate ang account ko, dahil sobra na ang mga panlalait sa akin ng ilang fans,” he recalled.
But it didn’t stop there. The fans also made the hashtag #PokpokAngInaNiOgieDiaz trend, just because they were angry with what the showbiz commentator remarked in his show and newspaper column.

“To a point na pina-trending pa nila yung #PokpokAngInaNiOgieDiaz para lang panghinaan ako ng loob. Idinamay pati nanay kong walang kamalay-malay,” Ogie added.
What exactly did he say?
Back then, Ogie just expressed his opinion that ‘Charice’ might be lesbian. He said that being lesbian is not wrong, but Racquel violently reacted to the matter, saying that her daughter was straight.
Until Jake Zyrus came out and settled the issue, once and for all.
“Hanggang sa ayan na nga, si Charice pa mismo ang umamin at pinalaya ang sarili. Hay. Kalokah no?” Ogie wrote.
The talent manager added that he doesn’t mind if people tease him about his gender since it is a part of his job. But he admitted getting hurt sometimes.
“Iniisip ko na lang, baka masyado lang talaga silang naniwala sa character na ginagampanan ko kung saan typecast na talaga ako sa mga gay character,” he stated.
To prove his masculinity, Ogie posted a birthday greeting to his daughter, who recently turned sweet sixteen. “Happy, happy 16th birthday sa unang patotoo na tunay na barako ang inyong lingkod. I love you, anak. Mahal na mahal ka ng daddy,” the doting father posted on his Facebook.
On the other hand, Racquel will reportedly file a libel complaint against Jake Zyrus because she was portrayed in a bad light in the MMK episode.
