Roughly a month ago, Kapamilya star Nadine Lustre headlined controversial stories after she shared her sentiments over rumors that she and her beau James Reid are already living together. She neither confirmed nor denied the allegations and answered the issue instead with:
“I mean if that was true so what? Di ba? I am not gonna confirm and I am not gonna deny but then, like, ano naman? It’s, like, not new anymore. There are younger couples na mas young pa sa akin na it’s normal na. C'mon guys, it’s 2017.”
Her statement set the social media world abuzz, and she became the top of the hit list for quite awhile. As expected, James was quick to defend his girlfriend. In an interview with the Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP) and Cinema News, James said he agrees with Nadine's statement.
“I don’t know about it, but I like Nadine’s answer,” the actor said. “It’s true.”
Just like the actress, James shrugged and assured that he is not affected at all. Nadine said, in one of her interviews, that she is not bothered by the online hate against her.
“Wala naman po. I mean tuloy pa rin naman yung buhay. Hindi naman po ako, ano, affected,” she said.
“Normal naman po yun talaga na di mo naman po mapi-please lahat and as for me naman po, di naman po ako nagfifilter ng isasaigot ko kasi bakit po ako magsisinungaling?” Nadine added.
Meanwhile, cosplayer and Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) teen big winner Myrtle Sarrosa spoke out about this "live in" issue and sent her support towards Nadine's stance.
In case you're wondering, Myrtle and Nadine are close friends. With Nadine being subjected to multiple controversies last month, including her clinching the sexiest woman spot of the FHM Philippines and deactivating her Twitter account thereafter, the other half of 'JaDine' must have got fed up.
But good thing that her friend Myrtle got her back.
“Changes? Si Nadine, she’s just embracing yung self niya talaga. Totoo naman na sexy talaga, kaya nga siya nanalo ng number one sexiest. I don’t think there’s anything wrong embracing yung confidence and sexiness niya,” Myrtle told Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP).
According to Myrtle, she and Nadine have been friends for almost a decade.
She said, "I’ve known her since I was 14. Di nga kami nagkakasama kasi we’re both busy with our separate careers. Pero kahit di kami nagkikita, magkaibigan pa rin kami. Nagri-reach out pa rin kami sa isa’t isa.”
“Sa totoo lang, pag nababasa ko yung mga negative kay Nadine, hurt ako. Kasi yung ibang mga tao, they think na porke’t artista, hindi na nakakaramdam ng sama ng loob pag naba-bash. They don’t know her personally, and I know her personally, and she’s a very good person talaga,” she furthered.
When asked about her thoughts on Nadine's statement on living under one roof, she said, “Whatever decision naman ang gawin ng isang tao sa kanyang buhay, bigay na lang natin sa kanila yun. Kung anuman ang mga decisions nila, sa kanila na yun. Respect na lang natin yung decisions nila.”
