James Reid is one of the most popular stars of modern-day Filipino showbiz. As one-half of the hugely successful loveteam dubbed “JaDine,” James enjoys a level of fame that many of his peers can only aspire to achieve.
Recently, James Reid organized a book-signing during the Manila International Book Fair (MIBF). He was supposed to sign two books, namely “Team Real” and “Pedro Penduko.”
Unfortunately, the book signing was cancelled. According to National Book Store, James’ book-signing had to be cancelled for “security reasons.”
So, what exactly happened?
James’ massive popularity actually worked against him during his book-signing as a horde of his loyal fans nearly overcame security for the event.
James’ rowdy fans were akin to a horde of zombies, clamoring for their idol as if he was gray matter. Such a situation could have been dangerous – or even fatal – if left unchecked.
Despite the ruckus, James was as cool as a cucumber, waving at his fans with a smile on his handsome face.
Fearing for the safety of MIBF attendees and James himself, the organizers decided it would be best to cancel James’ book signing.
James has since issued a public apology via a tweet. The tweet read: “Sorry for what happened at the MIBF it was totally unorganised. I hope no one got hurt.”
The incident was a clear sign that James Reid is, in fact, a bonafide showbiz superstar. The number of people who went to the MIBF just for a chance to meet and greet their idol can only be described as massive.

James is a multi-talented star. His recent album “Palm Dreams” has received favorable reviews.
